~ Homework ~
Mariposa students are generally involved in many extra curricular activities, so on Mondays, I opt to send home homework for the week. There will be work designed for Monday through Thursday evenings, and it will be returned Friday mornings. Below is an example of expected nightly work:
20 Minutes of Reading
They can read their library books, or anything you have at home. As long as they are reading (even if it means books to their younger siblings) I will be a happy teacher! Students work toward meeting an AR Goal each week, reaching 100% of that goal by the end of each trimester. :)
Math Daily Review
Students will receive a spiral review page that includes various math problems for Monday through Thursday. Each question is aligned with a 5th grade standard. A resource guide is posted on Google Classroom for them to reference while working on their homework. I have also posted additional math work on Google Classroom, if you feel that you would like them to have more problems than the assigned pages.
ELA Daily Review
Each week students will receive a page that includes daily language arts questions. They will answer a few questions for each day that are a mixed skills practice. Each question is also aligned with the standard it is based on. Students assembled a handbook for them to reference while working on their homework.
Agenda
Your child will fill out their agenda daily with the homework for that day. Keep a lookout for any notes I may write to you on the agenda, and please feel free to contact me on there as well. I ask for an adult's signature on the agenda daily, as a means of communication.
